In the evocative Mediterranean setting of Corsica, between sea and maquis, the Clos Marfisi winery operates, a historic artisanal reality in the Patrimonio area, one of the most wine-growing areas on the entire island. At the helm of the estate, founded back in 1870, since 2015, are Mathieu and Julie Marfisi, brother and sister who represent the fifth oenological generation of the family. Under the expert supervision of their father Toussaint, who has been involved in wine-growing since the 1950s, they manage the family Domaine with passion and expertise. Julie learned the secrets of the trade from working alongside her father, while Mathieu decided to join her later after leaving his job as a financial engineer in Paris, driven by pride and love for his land.

The Clos Marfisi estate comprises 15 hectares of vineyards, some of them very old, rooted on pebbly, schistose and clayey soils rich in limestone and spread over three different sub-zones of Patrimonio: Ravagnola, Gritole and Grotta di Sole. Here, the winery exclusively grows three of the most emblematic traditional Corsican varieties, such as Niellucciu, a biotype of Sangiovese widespread on the island since ancient times, Vermentinu and Muscat a Petite Grains. The vines grow on south- and west-facing soils and are cultivated without the use of synthetic chemicals, in accordance with the strictest principles of organic agriculture. Harvesting is carried out strictly by hand and fermentation in the cellar is entrusted exclusively to indigenous yeasts. A combination of stainless steel tanks, cement vats, amphorae and oak barrels of several passages is used as wine containers, all without the invasive addition of wood and, moreover, excluding the use of filtration.

The production of the Corsican wine cellar Clos Marfisi comprises white and red wines with an indomitable spirit, endowed with exemplary typicity and a proud Mediterranean character. Particularly striking is the expressiveness of the Niellucciu-based reds, such as 'Gritole', produced from grapes from the sub-zone of the same name.
