Alta Langa Rosé Brut Elém 2018

The production reality Elém, belonging to the Martini brothers, introduces its Alta Langa Rosé Brut, a graceful and refreshing sparkling wine. The controlled and guaranteed designation of origin from Piemonte "Alta Langa" is reserved for Classic Method sparkling wines produced in the hilly area between the provinces of Alessandria, Asti, and Cuneo. According to regulations, the grape varieties allowed for production must consist of at least 90% Chardonnay and/or Pinot Nero, to which a maximum of 10% of other non-aromatic grapes suitable for cultivation in the region can be added.

The Alta Langa Special Edition Rosé Brut by Elém is produced exclusively from Pinot Nero grapes, harvested slightly early to contain the alcohol content and preserve the natural acidity of the berries. Once in the winery, the bunches undergo a brief cold skin maceration and are then softly pressed, with the resulting must undergoing alcoholic fermentation in steel. The sparkling base is then placed in bottle and added with tirage syrup for the second fermentation according to the Classic Method. The aging period on the lees lasts for 30 months before disgorgement and subsequent topping up.

The Classic Method Alta Langa Brut Special Edition Rosé Elém has a pale pink hue with delicate and persistent effervescence. On the nose, it evokes fresh and elegant notes of pomegranate, pink grapefruit, and berries such as currants and wild strawberries, which meet floral fragrances. Delicate and refined on the palate, with fine bubbles that combine with pleasant freshness and excellent minerality. Rosé sparkling wine suitable for aperitifs in company or paired with sea entrées.
