The Barbaresco "Pajoré" by Rizzi is a broad, intense, and robust wine, born in one of the historic crus of Barbaresco and matured for 15 months in large barrels. Bright tones of red fruit and sweet spices emerge from a full, concentrated, and silky aromatic weave, supported by soft tannins

The Barbaresco ‘Pajore’ from the family-run winery Rizzi is a captivating interpretation of one of the most prestigious denominations of Piemonte and Italy in general. The Geographical Indication ‘Pajore’ is located at the northern border of the municipality of Treiso and constitutes one of the most vocated crus of the entire Langhe area. Rizzi owns approximately 3 hectares within this MGA, from which in 2004 it produced the first vintage of Barbaresco ‘Pajore’. Today, the owner and founder Ernesto Dellapiana is joined by his children Enrico, responsible for the technical-enological aspect, and Jole, engaged in the commercial part.

Rizzi Barbaresco ‘Pajore’ is a pure Nebbiolo from vines planted partly in 1968 and partly in 2008 within the MGA ‘Pajore’. Here, the soils are characterized by the so-called “Lequio Formation,” an alternation of compact gray marls and layers of sand, while the altitude is between 230 and 300 meters above sea level.sea. The grapes are hand-picked into crates and then transferred to the winery for alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with about 3-4 weeks of contact between the must and the skins. After the complete completion of malolactic fermentation, the mass is then racked first into large Slavonian oak barrels, where it rests for a year, then into concrete tanks for 6-9 months before further aging in bottle.

The ‘Pajore’ Barbaresco by Rizzi is of intense garnet red color. From the glass emerge broad and enticing aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, violet, rose, and medicinal herbs, supported by complex perceptions of leather, licorice, clove, and black pepper. Full, structured, and balanced the tasting, defined by excellent freshness and pleasant tannic texture.
