Barbaresco 'Valeirano' La Spinetta 2022
Perfect to give as a giftThe Barbaresco Valeirano is a painting of the Langhe capable of expressing with great personality the beauty of the prestigious Piedmontese land. On the nose, it recalls a wide family of aromas, including oriental and sweet spices, red fruit in jelly, and the roasting of coffee and tobacco. The body is elegant, full, and graceful, despite the pronounced tannic structure and the very long persistence.
The Barbaresco “Valeirano” La Spinetta is a unique excellence. Unique because it stems from a strong and visceral love for the land and the vineyard, to which the expressive supremacy is entrusted. The territory is the absolute protagonist of the work and the wines signed by La Spinetta. Valeirano is one of the most prestigious Cru of Barbaresco and is located in Treiso. It extends over an area of 3 hectares determined by predominantly calcareous soils and is situated at an altitude of 400 meters. The Nebbiolo grapes that come from the Valeirano vineyards are recognizable for their pronounced and fine mineral qualities, making it a perfect narrator of its original terroir. 90% of the winery's work is done in the vineyard, through pruning and cultivation practices faithful to the biodynamic philosophya that lower yields and preserve the natural expression of the fruit to the maximum.
The Barbaresco “Valeirano” is made entirely from hand-picked Nebbiolo grapes in small crates. The age of the vines is quite high, averaging between 46 and 52 years.ranges from 46 to 52 years. Following alcoholic fermentation, which takes place in steel tanks, the wine is transferred to barriques where malolactic fermentation begins. The aging takes place in medium-toasted French oak barriques for 22 months, after which it is bottled and continues aging patiently in the bottle for another 12 months. No filtration or clarification is performed.
Valeirano La Spinetta is a great Barbaresco of the territory. It stands out for its ability to enhance the Nebbiolo grape with extraordinary finesse and elegance. On the nose, it shows hints of red fruit, dried rose petals, and aromatic herbs intertwined with a spicy weave. The same complexity is found on the palate, where this Barbaresco captivates with its well-present body while remaining fine, just as the tannin is. The evolution of the latter will lead the wine's hardness to become elegantly chiseled, making it a grand gentleman that tells of its native land.
