Aurelj Vaira's Barolo Fossati is a robust red of great finesse. The winery works extensively with all clones of Nebbiolo, which it uses in its various reds. This Barolo is made from the Lampia clone only. The nose reveals notes of ripe red fruit such as cherry and blackberry, with a floral touch of rose and dark spices such as cocoa and liquorice. The palate is structured and tannic, with lively freshness and persistence. Perfect with starred red meat dishes
