The Barolo "Monprivato" by Giuseppe Mascarello is a monument of the Langhe: a very important and prestigious red wine, aged for 38 months in barrel and endowed with great longevity. Austerity, impressiveness, and complexity, with intense aromas and scents of fruit, flowers, and spices, are its main characteristics. A Barolo without age!

“Monprivato” by Giuseppe Mascarello is a portrait of His Majesty Barolo. Known for being the king of wines and the wine of kings, Barolo has made a name for itself worldwide for its characteristics of absolute elegance and finesse. “Monprivato” exemplarily retraces the history of this noble nectar, enhancing it in every aspect. It comes from one of the most ancient and representative Crus of the denomination, listed by scholars among the 11 primary historic Crus. A wise and wonderful blend of tradition, passion, and land, synthesized in a bottle that bears the exceptional signature of Giuseppe Mascarello.

The Barolo “Monprivato” comes from the homonymous Cru, located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto. The vineyard, owned by the Mascarello family, extends over an area of 6 hectares at an altitude of 280 meters above sea level. The soil is of Miocene origin dating back to the Helvetian era, defined by limy-clay marls of good structure and rich in active limestone. The abundance of certain particular elements in the soil and the exposure of the vines with a southwest orientation allow for grapes with enormous expressive potential in the wine, which will be recognizable for particular qualities of structure, aromatic finesse, taste persistence, elegance, and capacity for evolution. The harvest takes place manually around mid-October. The winemaking follows the traditional method, which involves a long phase of maceration of the must on the skins. The aging occurs in medium-sized Slavonian oak barrels and lasts for 30 months.

Giuseppe Mascarello “Monprivato” presents a garnet red color, slightly orange at the rim. The bouquet, on the nose, opens into a complexity of red fruit, fresh flowers, and a varied spicy trail. The taste is very elegant, refined by a velvety tannin and a fresh vein of great length. The body is full and intense. It closes with an austere and pleasant persistence, reminiscent of the land of Langa.
