The Barolo Riserva "Lazzarito" by Ettore Germano is a very structured wine of great elegance. It comes from the Lazzarito cru in Serralunga and ages for 30 months in oak barrels. Small red fruits, spices, and licorice enliven a robust and intense sip, with a sweet tannic persistence.

Ettore Germano's Barolo Riserva 'Lazzarito' is anicon of elegance and finesse. It is a gentleman that narrates the beauty of the Langhe and the complexity of a grape variety, Nebbiolo, that has elevated this land to a paradise of Italian and world wine-growing. The production area is that of Serralunga, where the Lazzarito cru is located, which knows how to give Barolo wines of power and backbone, depth and complexity, masculinity and muscle. Like this expression by Ettore Germano, which has found in the lengthy ageing that makes it a Riserva an ennobling of its personality and a softening of its strong impetus. All this to provide us with an experience that enchants the palate and warms the soul.

Germano's Riserva di Barolo 'Lazzarito' comes from the cru of the same name. The vineyard is very old and sits on limestone and marl soil typical of the Serralunga d'Alba area. Harvesting of the Nebbiolo grapes takes place at a slightly advanced stage of ripeness, so as to allow for an initial ripening of the tannin. The maceration phase lasts about 35-40 days and precedes a long ageing period of 30 months in large 20 hl oak barrels. A further 2 years of resting in the bottle make this label ready for marketing.

Ettore Germano's 'Lazzarito' Barolo Riserva has a very clear and luminous garnet red colour. Intensity and elegance coexist in a profile of red and forest fruits, violets and liquorice. Similarly, a powerful personality emerges in the mouth, highlighted by the body and taste sensations, but very fine, as demonstrated by the velvety and persuasive tannins. It closes with a persistent and very promising finish, which postpones the discovery of a tasting in a few more years, because this Barolo is made to have no end.
