The Barolo "Vigna del Gris" is a robust and significant red wine: a great expression of Piemonte. It matures for 24 months in barrique and expresses itself in a bouquet of ripe fruit, dried flowers, and spices, and in a taste that is austere, intense, and very elegant.

The red Barolo "Vigna del Gris" is a wine that needs no introduction. It is indeed one of the many gems present in the range produced every year by the Conterno Fantino winery in Monforte d'Alba, one of the beating hearts of the Piedmontese Langhe. A label that expresses the most traditional characteristics of the denomination of Barolo, elegantly interpreting it thanks to the always fruitful combination of grape variety and territory, with Nebbiolo as the main actor. To be reserved for evenings spent with the most passionate friends, eager to tackle a great bottle.

The "Vigna del Gris" Barolo is born from the pure use of a grape variety that is a symbol of Piedmontese enology, Nebbiolo. The vines of this variety grow using the guyot system in a biological regime, within the cru that gives its name to the label, the Vigna del Gris, exposed to the south and southeast. The grapes, hand-picked during the harvest by the Conterno Fantino team around mid-October, they ferment alcoholically, macerating in contact with the skins in horizontal steel fermenters for 8-15 days. The process then continues with aging, during which the wine first rests for 24 months in barrique, and then, after bottling, for another 12 months directly in glass.

The Conterno Fantino "Vigna del Gris" reveals itself visually with a typically garnet color, with a "light" shade, not too intense. The nose is dominated by deep sensations, where ripe fruit alternates with wilted flowers and various tertiary nuances of spices, derived from the aging period spent in wood. On the palate, it is full-bodied, energetic and muscular, with a sip that develops elegantly and has excellent persistence, making the finish long. Conterno Fantino, a reference name in Piedmont, has for several years been at the top of the main Italian and international sector guides, confirming its reputation with a Barolo that pleases the palate of all connoisseurs.
