Brunello di Montalcino Riserva La Magia 2019
La Magia's Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a red wine of extraordinary elegance and character, aged for 40 months in tonneaux. It coats the palate with a decidedly full-bodied and muscular texture, of great complexity and class, with well-refined tannins and an evolved bouquet of ripe red fruit, sweet spices, toasting, coffee, cocoa and liquorice
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva La Màgia is the winery's most prestigious label. It is produced only in the best vintages and is made from a selection of the finest grapes from the estate's most suitable plots. The long ageing period in wood produces an elegant, harmonious and refined red wine that highlights the best qualities of Sangiovese di Montalcino, the terroir of choice for this grape variety. It is a wine intended for long ageing, to be forgotten in the cellar for a few years before savouring its rich complexity paired with roast game, a slice of Chianina beef or a Florentine steak.
The red Brunello di Montalcino Riserva La Màgia is produced in the heart of the magnificent terroir of one of Italy's most famous appellations for the production of great wines. Only grapes from vines over 40 years old, grown at an altitude of between 400 and 450 metres on the south-eastern slopes of Montalcino, are used to produce this prestigious cuvée. The soils are poor and stony, characterised by an abundance of sand on the surface and a clayey subsoil, which retains moisture and ensures good water reserves even during the driest periods. The harvest takes place between the end of September and the beginning of October. The grapes ferment in truncated cone-shaped wooden vats with a maceration period on the skins of about 45 days. The wine matures for 40 months in new French oak tonneaux and completes its long ageing period with a further 18 months in the bottle.
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva La Màgia is a great red wine dedicated to lovers of pure Sangiovese. It has a bright garnet red colour with ruby reflections. The bouquet is elegant and refined, with delicate floral nuances of violet, aromas of red currant, morello cherry, raspberry and cherry, hints of undergrowth, medicinal herbs, liquorice root, leather, roasted notes, spices and noble woods. Well-structured, it is characterised by a fine tannic texture that envelops rich, intense, deep and persistent aromas, harmoniously accompanying the palate towards a fresh and savoury finish
