Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Tenuta di Collosorbo 2018
The Brunello di Montalcino Reserve from Tenuta di Collosorbo is an austere and vigorous wine that embodies the deep and elegant soul of Tuscany. After a maturation of 42 months in large barrels and at least 12 in bottle, it expresses complex sensations of red fruit, leather, and spices. On the palate it is dry and robust, soft, balanced, and very persistent
The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a wine that comes from a meticulous selection of Sangiovese grapes, selected from the best parcels of the Tenuta di Collosorbo. In addition to this important premise, a scrupulous work in the vineyard combined with targeted interventions in the cellar preserve the integrity of the primary fruity aromas, enhancing the quality of a label that has garnered acclaim from both Italian and international critics. A classy and refined bottle, which moreover can still mature, ensuring an evolutionary journey of several years.
The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is made using pure Sangiovese. The vines are cultivated using the spurred cordon system, both single and double, and the harvest is carried out in stages, reaching up to three passes among the rows to select only the healthiest bunches. A soft crushing and destemming is performed, and the must obtained ferments in stainless steel spontaneously thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, macerating with frequent pump-overs. The subsequent aging is carried out in large French oak barrels for 42 months, and then, after bottling, the wine remains to mature for another 13 months directly in glass.
The Collosorbo Brunello di Montalcino Riserva presents itself visually with an intense ruby color, characterized by reflections that tend more towards garnet at the rim. The nose is broad and layered, moving along an olfactory line dominated by sensations of ripe fruit interspersed with hints of sweet spices and leather. On the palate, it is of excellent body, stern and massive, with a balanced and round sip that envelops the palate with elegance. It finishes with a finale characterized by excellent persistence. A label that, for the Tenuta di Collosorbo, represents one of the diamonds in the entire range produced in Montalcino.
