Champagne Brut 'Cuvée Saint-Petersbourg' Magnum Veuve Clicquot
The "Cuvèe Saint-Ptersbourg" is an historical Champagne by the winery Veuve Clicquot, dedicated to Barbe Nicole Ponsardin, known as Madame Clicquot, who exported it in Russia for the first time. The elegant perlage, the notes of mature fruits, almonds and sweet spicies and the balanced and elegant structure are the identity card of this sparkling wine
The Champagne Brut “Cuvée Saint-Petersbourg” is a tribute to the courage and tenacity of Madame Clicquot, who in the distant 1814, despite the continental blockade that immobilized trade in Europe, managed to export it to the courts of St. Petersburg. Its bubbles garnered a great success among the Russian nobility and this event consecrated the fortune of the Maison. In a short time, her Champagne was already famous all over the world; the demand was extremely high and its quality was outstanding. With this label, the Veuve Clicquot winery wants to emphasize the glorious history that ties it to a past filled with successes, in which it is noted how even in the 1800s it was one of the most appreciated bottles on the globe.
The Brut "Saint-Petersbourg" by Veuve Clicquot is made with the same blends as the Yellow Label, where Pinot Noir predominates, complemented by Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, but the production method differentiates it, in fact, it ages for 3 or 4 years on the lees, compared to the 30 months of the Brut Yellow Label. It therefore results inmore evolved and richer: the notes of vanilla, pastry, and bread are more pronounced, but still perfectly integrated into a sip of great finesse and balance, where freshness divinely equals softness. In short, a historic Magnum Champagne, of great tradition, that unleashes the essence of Madame Clicquot.
