Chianti Classico Riserva di Capannelle is made from pure Sangiovese grapes from the hills around Gaiole in Chianti, in the province of Siena. Vinified in steel vats, it is then aged for about 10 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, developing intense notes of vanilla, wood and tobacco. Ruby red in colour tending towards garnet, it also gives the typical aromas of cherry, strawberry and raspberry, blending perfectly with grilled meats, game or mushroom dishes

The Chianti Classico Riserva Capannelle represents a deep and typical interpretation of the territory of Gaiole in Chianti, produced with only Sangiovese grapes. Starting from the 2012 vintage, after almost forty years, this Chianti Classico Riserva, like three other labels from the Capannelle winery, has been profoundly renewed in the design of the label, with the vintage year taking center stage. The study and work of restyling is the work of the famous designer and graphic artist Massimo Vignelli, who unfortunately passed away in 2014. For the Chianti Classico Riserva, a ruby red on a white background was chosen, symbolizing the characteristic color of Sangiovese must.

Capannelle Chianti Classico Riserva is a 100% Sangiovese from vineyards managed according to the principles of organic farming. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately transferred to the winery, where they are processed in stainless steel tanks, containers in which alcoholic fermentation occurs in contact with the skins. Once the fermentation process is completed, the wine is transferred to large Slavonian oak barrels with a capacity between 13 and 30 hectoliters for the 10 months of aging that precedes the final bottling.

In the glass, the Chianti Classico Riserva from the Tuscan winery Capannelle reveals a ruby red appearance with garnet reflections. On the nose, precious notes of red fruits such as cherry, strawberry, and raspberry emerge, complemented by deep hints of fine woods, tobacco, and vanilla. Intense and excellently balanced is the taste development, characterized by brilliant freshness and sweet tannins leading to a long-lasting finish. This is a typically Chianti Sangiovese, which is why it pairs well with local dishes such as fettuccine with wild boar ragù or Chianina steak.
