The Timorasso “Quadro” from the Vigneti Repetto winery is an intense, fresh, and mineral white wine that highlights the best characteristics of this historic white grape variety native to the Colli Tortonesi area. In a land of great reds like Piemonte, only a white with a strong personality could emerge and carve out a prominent place in the regional landscape. Its rediscovery is due to the stubborn tenacity of a few producers, which has been part of a broader re-evaluation of the rich heritage of our native grape varieties. It is a wine that, when young, expresses mainly floral and fruity notes, shifting towards aromas of flint and hydrocarbons after a few years of bottle aging.
The Timorasso “Quadro” is one of the flagship labels of a family-run business located in the countryside of Sarazzano, near Tortona. The Vigneti Repetto winery cultivates vines on sunny hillside exposures facing southwest and northwest, at about 300 meters above sea level on calcareous clay, particularly suitable for viticulture. In this territory with a mild and breezy climate, Timorasso has always expressed itself with high-quality grapes and in recent years has been showing remarkable potential. At the end of the harvest operations, the grapes are gently pressed and the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Before bottling, the wine matures for 9 months in stainless steel tanks.
