'Dritto al Cuore' is Ricci Winery's everyday red wine. A refreshing, crisp and easy-drinking wine that reflects the artisan spirit of the winemaker who produced it. Daniele Ricci, a former toll collector on the Milan-Serravalle motorway, is now more alive than ever and has returned to live in the habitat that suits him best: the vineyard. Specifically, 10 hectares of vineyards in Costa Vescovado in the Tortonese area, partly inherited from his grandparents and partly acquired personally. He cultivates this land with care, faithful to the principles of organic farming practised since 1997, with the desire to pass it on to his son Mattia in its most splendid and least distorted form possible.
This red wine, named "Dritto al Cuore", is a lively and incisive expression of the historic Piedmontese grape variety. It surprises with its incredible and satisfying drinkability, which it exhibits tirelessly glass after glass. Unlike its older sister "Castellania", which is aged in wood, this version aims to enhance all the freshness and fragrance of the fruit, typical of the variety, by opting for vinification exclusively in steel containers. Thanks to maceration on the skins under a submerged cap for 15 days, the must extracts colourful vigour and vibrant tannins, surprising the palate with an energetic and lashing sip.
