The Etna Rosato by Benanti is a fresh Sicilian expression made from pure Nerello Mascalese grapes. It presents itself visually with an intense pink color and reveals a delicate fruity bouquet of cherry, pomegranate, and red berries on the nose. The taste is mineral, dry, and savory, with a pleasant aromatic persistence of red fruits

The Etna Rosato by Benanti is one of the most interesting interpretations of this type of wine, produced on the famous Sicilian volcano. It is made with pure Nerello Mascalese, the red grape variety traditionally cultivated on the slopes of the volcano. Its particularly elegant profile and delicately fruity aromas make it very suitable for rosé winemaking, which enhances its qualities of refined finesse, freshness, and sapidity. The aromas of small berries and the clear mineral hints make it a perfect table companion to accompany first courses with tomato sauces, seafood stews, fish soups, or white meats.

The Etna Rosato is made by one of the most important names in the area. The Benanti family has been involved in viticulture on the volcano since the early 18th century. Even today, the winery represents a solid reference for its ability to remain true to traditions. The enhancement of the Etna districts also goes through the rediscovery of native grape varieties, particularly Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante. When producing a rosé, the choice inevitably fell on the most representative red grape variety of the Etna area. The Nerello Mascalese vines are cultivated on the southeast side of Etna, on soils composed of volcanic sands. After harvesting, the grapes undergo a cold pre-fermentation maceration for 12 hours and then a soft pressing. The free-run must is then vinified in white in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The wine matures in steel tanks for a few months before being bottled.

The Etna Rosato from the Sicilian winery Benanti is a wine that offers all the elegance of a great grape like Nerello Mascalese in rosé form. Today, the Etna area, in addition to producing excellent whites and reds, offers some among the best rosé labels of our peninsula. In the glass, it presents an ancient pink color, with floral aromas, cherry, and small dark berries. The sip is pleasantly fruity, with a soft entry, a finish fresh and mineral with a slight tannic sensation. A bottle to always have in the cellar during the summer period.
