Gavi 'Ventola' La Bollina 2023

The Gavi Ventola is a daily wine that knows how to be a fusion of smoothness and minerality, capable of continuously alternating a comforting softness with freshness and sapidity. A reality that has managed to renew itself is that of Bollina, concretely with the renovation of the winery which today presents modern and cutting-edge winemaking techniques. 120 hectares of estate contained in the Gavi Docg area, of which 28 are dedicated to vineyards where predominantly local grape varieties are cultivated alongside international varieties.

The white Gavi Ventola comes from pure Cortese grapes cultivated with limited yields of about 70 quintals of grapes per hectare. After the harvest of the grapes and the static clarification of the musts for 24 hours, fermentation occurs in steel at controlled temperature for the first two-thirds of its duration, while the completion of the same takes place in French oak barriques. The aging also involves the use of small wood, in fact the liquid ages 6 months in barrique enriching itself with complex toasted and buttery nuances. A rich wine, therefore, with character,international although it continues to carry the mineral veins that Cortese knows how to offer.

The wine Gavi Ventola La Bollina presents itself in the glass with a straw yellow color surrounded by slight golden reflections. From the very first sniff, it does not hide all its richness, where floral hints initially emerge, immediately replaced by a basket of white-fleshed fruits, including pear and peach. The profile is enriched by notes of cream and vanilla, elegant and subtle. The taste is full and substantial, also due to a slight overripening of the grapes that gives greater depth to the liquid, and shows a perfect balance between softness and freshness. A liquid of exquisite elegance, not to be missed at this price!
