Gin 'Double Yuzu' Etsu - 70cl

The Gin "Double Yuzu" Etsu from the Asahikawa Distillery is an elegant and refined distillate, the result of a search for the best Japanese botanicals.  The recipe remains, of course, a secret, carefully guarded within the walls of the distillery, in the best tradition of great Gins. The aromatic spectrum is complex and finely nuanced, but it is characterized especially by the citrus fragrance and balsamic freshness, which constitute the mainstays of the distillate, enriched and completed by floral and spicy hints. The "Double Yuzu" Etsu is a Gin made by the Asahikawa Distillery, located near Sapporo, in Hokkaido Prefecture.  The area, characterized by a still wild and unspoiled nature, can also boast an ancient tradition in the preparation of great distillates. Its unique personality and the charm of its scents and aromas derive from a skilled selection of Japanese botanicals, including flowers, local herbs,local flora, tea, juniper berries and a typical citrus fruit of the area, Yuzu, with an aromatic profile similar to lemon. The preparation follows the oldest traditions, with a long and patient infusion of the botanicals to extract all the precious aromatic compounds. This is followed by a careful distillation, which yields a Gin of extraordinary finesse and expressive purity. Before bottling, the distillate is lowered in proof with crystal-clear water from the pure springs of the Taisetsu mountains.
