The Greco di Tufo from Villa Raiano is a white wine that impresses with its freshness, minerality, and savoriness. Vinified and aged in steel, it expresses a very fragrant bouquet reminiscent of fresh citrus, crunchy white fruit, and white flowers, with subtle mineral incursions. On the palate, it shows agility and ease of drinking, thanks to a clear and pleasant component of marine freshness.

area. Its cluster, small and compact, is cultivated in the seven hectares located between Altavilla and Montefusco, and the vines sink their roots into excellent soil, 500 meters above sea level, of clayey matrix, rich in volcanic ash, particularly fertile for the cultivation of this grape variety. The harvest takes place in the first week of September and is carried out exclusively manually. Once transported to the winery, the whole cluster undergoes a soft pressing and a subsequent static decantation, followed by fermentation at controlled temperature and aging, both carried out in stainless steel tanks for a short period, so as not to compromise the primary aromas of the varietal.

The characteristics of Greco di Tufo are well reflected in the label of Villa Raiano, starting from its bright straw-yellow color. At first, notes of orange blossom and elderflower emerge, followed by the freshness of anise, mapo, and medlar that accompanies a more almond-like finish, enriched by hints of quince. The sip is intense and emphasizes a powerful structure of a vibrant freshness and a finish with clear mineral notes, given by the volcanic soil. It is the typical example of this rustic grape variety, which has often been attempted to be tamed, but in reality is too much like a stubborn boy, few words, but with great qualities impossible to standardize. All we can do is accept it to appreciate it at its best.
