Box 'Classico' Santa Sofia

The 'Classic' Box from the Veneto-based Santa Sofia estate is a bundle that effectively presents the winery's rich yet elegant style. Located in San Pietro in Cariano, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, the Santa Sofia estate has been dedicated to wine production for more than two centuries, since the winery was founded in 1811. This reality is led by the Begnoni family, a family that wisely manages a vast vineyard estate distributed among the areas of Valpolicella Classica, Valpantena and Lugana. The headquarters of the winery is then Villa Santa Sofia, a structure designed in the 1500s by the famous Andrea Palladio, architect of the Republic of Venice to whom the nobleman Marcantonio Serego commissioned the construction of the villa.

Santa Sofia Box 'Classico' is a package that includes inside it three different expressions of Valpolicella Classica signed Santa Sofia, namely: a bottle of Valpolicella Classico, a bottle of Valpolicella Classico Superiore 'Montegradella' and a bottle of Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. All three wines are made from a blend of the indigenous varieties Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. In the case of Valpolicella Classico, processing takes place entirely in stainless steel tanks, so as to enhance the fruit and freshness of the wine. In contrast, Valpolicella Classico Superiore 'Montegradella' ages for 18 months in oak barrels, a passage that contributes to its complexity and spiciness. Finally, the grapes destined for Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Santa Sofia undergo the traditional drying process for a period of 80-100 days, followed by vinification and then a long aging of 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. The result is a rich and concentrated Amarone of great elegance and expressive depth.
