"Erta Poggio della Bruna" Red from the family winery Paolo Marchionni is a pure Sangiovese that is bold and flavorful, produced near Florence. The alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously in cement tanks, while the aging is for 18 months in wooden barrels and 15 months in bottle. The intense ruby red color with orange reflections introduces aromas of red-fleshed fruit, sour cherry, cherry, and berries that blend well with toasty sensations. The taste is warm, enveloping, fruity, and has a long finish.

“L’Erta Poggio della Bruna” Rosso, made by Paolo Marchionni, is an intense and long-lived wine that expresses the best characteristics of the great Sangiovese from Toscana. The name of the wine refers to the slope of the vineyards and, in fact, the grapes come only from the most suitable high hillside plots, cultivated on stony soils with splendid exposures. The quality of the grapes is excellent, always ripe and aromatically rich, allowing for the creation of a wine with great personality, which represents the pinnacle of production.

The wine “L’Erta Poggio della Bruna” Rosso is born in the estate of Paolo Marchionni, a Tuscan winemaker who has managed to stand out thanks to a simple and direct approach to the world of wine. His labels are particularly appreciated by those who are looking for authentic wines that can express the true face of the terroir. The Sangiovese vineyards are located on sunny hillside exposures and their roots dig into soils composed of sands, limestone, clay silt, and stones of Galestro and Alberese. The harvest

of the best selected bunches in the vineyard, takes place between the end of September and the beginning of October. The grapes are spontaneously fermented, using only indigenous yeasts, in cement tanks, with a maceration period on the skins of about twenty days. The wine rests for 18 months in tonneau and barrique, only a small part new, and completes the aging with another 15 months in bottle before being put on the market.

The Rosso “L’Erta Poggio della Bruna” is the highest expression of Sangiovese from the cellar of Paolo Marchionni. It is the most structured, complex version, made with long aging in mind. Its intense personality makes it particularly suitable for important pairings with a chianina steak or game. It presents a ruby red color with garnet reflections. The olfactory profile is characterized by aromas of ripe cherry, small red berry fruits, hints of sour cherry and red-fleshed plum, sensations of humus and underbrush, nuances of leather and noble woods. With good structure, it has dense and mature tannins and a good aromatic complexity, which unfolds in a long and persistent sip. The finish is pleasantly fresh and savory.
