The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo by La Valentina is an Abruzzo red wine that ages for 18 months, mostly in steel and a small remainder in oak barrels of different capacities. It expresses a simple yet distinctive aromatic bouquet, with scents of sour cherries and raspberries surrounded by light balsamic puffs and hints of licorice, revealing itself on the palate with frankness, enveloping tannins, and excellent balance between freshness and softness.

The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from the La Valentina winery is a pleasantly fruity red wine with a pleasant consistency produced in Spoltore, in the province of Pescara, in Abruzzo. This label is made from pure Montepulciano grapes sourced from vineyards in the municipalities of Spoltore, San Valentino, and Scafa, located at an altitude of about 150-400 meters with a south/southwest solar exposure. The vines, aged between 25 and 35 years, are trained using the spurred cordon method on medium-textured soils characterized by clayey soils. The winery is a family-run business, owning about 40 hectares of vineyards managed to enhance the characteristics of the Abruzzo territory to the maximum while minimizing interventions in the vineyard.

The Montepulciano La Valentina is produced with carefully selected and hand-picked grapes generally around mid-September. The bunches, brought to the winery, are destemmed and crushed to undergo alcoholic fermentation, which takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with a maceration on the skins of about 10 days. The wine is then racked with pressing of the skins, after which it remains in aging for 80% in stainless steel containers and for the remaining part in 25-hectoliter oak barrels and in second and third passage barriques for a period of at least 18 months, before proceeding to blending and subsequent bottling.

The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo La Valentina presents itself with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe fruit and jam appear, including cherry and raspberry, floral notes of dried red flowers, spicy hints of licorice and spicy spices, with balsamic and menthol echoes. On the palate, it is soft, full, and enveloping, characterized by a well-balanced and fine tannin and excellent freshness. This Montepulciano from the La Valentina winery is a pleasant expression that does not disappoint, designed to adapt best to the most diverse situations.
