The “Madrechiesa” is a Morellino di Scansano Riserva that represents the selection of a single vineyard, particularly suited for the production of quality Sangiovese. The “Madrechiesa” Morellino di Scansano Riserva is made by Terenzi using Sangiovese grapes grown in a single plot, which gives its name to the label itself. We are in a terroir just a little over four hectares, characterized by a subsoil rich in magnesium and potassium, with coarse sands and clays that reveal a good presence of skeleton, ideal for draining excess water. The manual harvest takes place during the month of September. The fermentation of the must occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. The subsequent aging takes place for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.

This Morellino di Scansano Riserva “Madrechiesa” by Terenzi presents itself to the eye with a ruby red hue, crossed by light flashes reminiscent of garnet. The aromas that envelop the nose are broad and varied, telling us of a fruity and balsamic profile, enriched by references to the Mediterranean scrub and underbrush. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with a warm and concentrated sip, calling for an important drink also thanks to the excellent tannic texture.
