The Muscadet from Les Quatre Journaux is a white wine made from Melon de Bourgogne grapes coming from the single parcel ‘Les Plessinières’. The vines grow on a gneiss soil, a rock that heats up easily and retains little water, creating conditions of slight water deficiency for the vine. This situation causes the clusters to reach the right degree of ripeness early and thus they are harvested first every year. On the nose, notes of white-fleshed fruit, sweet citrus, white flowers, and a clear mineral sensation reminiscent of wet stone are perceived. On the palate, it is taut and slender, with a savory vein that extends the sip. It pairs well with linguine with clams.
