Jean Claude Boisset's Nuits-Saint-Georges comes from a fifty-year-old vineyard on calcareous and gravelly soils, near the famous village of the same name. About half of the grapes are not pressed, a technique that allows for the extraction of structure but also enhances the final fruity sensations. The wine is aged in barriques, about half of which are new, to give it the structure and complexity of oak. The nose reveals red fruits, sweet liquorice and a mineral touch of flint. On the palate, it impresses with its vibrant freshness, silky tannins and great persistence. Ideal with red meats such as duck with blueberries or cheeses such as mature Époisses
