"Phigaia" is a red wine of great elegance and freshness from the Colli Asolani that is aged for 12 months in wood. Rich and broad on the nose, with notes of cherries, sour cherries, spices, and light hints of aromatic herbs and licorice. The sip has softness and roundness, with excellent balance and a delicate tannin, finishing on savory tones.

The “Phigaia After The Red” by Serafini & Vidotto is born in Veneto in the municipality of Nervesa della Battaglia near Treviso. The winery was established in 1985 in a place where there were woods, valleys, and hills that could become an excellent setting for vineyards. Since the first harvest, they have shown a strong commitment to caring for and passionately protecting the plants, the grapes, and the surrounding landscape, aware that beauty must be cultivated every day. The work philosophy is oriented towards the possibility of being sustainable for the environment, intervening as little as possible in the processing stages.

The Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are cultivated on hilly foothill soils oriented east-west. The presence of the Piave River nearby ensures good irrigation for the land, resulting in flourishing and fertile soils. They follow the principles of organic farming, in order to respect the entire ecosystem surrounding the vineyards: controlled compost and certified organic fertilizers are used, without the use of herbicides. The harvest is conducted manually between the end of September and the beginning of October, followed by a selection of the best grapes; it ages for 12 months in steel and 12 in second-pass oak barrels.

The color of the “Phigaia After The Red” by Serafini & Vidotto is a ruby red with bright reflections. The aromas recall sour cherries, wild cherries, and blackcurrants, with floral notes, herbal notes, coffee, and licorice on the finish. On the palate, it is elegant, structured, and enveloping; the tannins are well integrated with a long and persistent finish for an interesting drink. It pairs perfectly with meat dishes such as braised veal cheeks and lamb chops; it is also interesting with medium-aged sheep and cow cheeses. An excellent product to enjoy during carefree family lunches, savoring in the glass the genuine flavor of the Friulian land.
