Riesling '21/22' Geschickt

The Alsatian Riesling Geschickt ‘21/22’ is configured as a structured and at the same time dynamic interpretation, produced according to a craft production approach. It is one of the labels that best represents the style of this family-run winery located in Ammerschwihr, now managed by Arnaud Geschickt and Aurelie Fayolle, who in 2011 were joined by Frederic Geschickt, Arnaud's uncle. This particular white wine is born from the union of wines from two different vintages, ’20 and ’21, hence the name.

Geschickt ‘21/22’ Riesling derives from the homonymous white grape variety cultivated following the dictates of certified organic and biodynamic agriculture on soils rich in limestone, clay, and granite. The harvests are carried out by hand and the bunches are then vinified with a short maceration on the skins in stainless steel tanks using only indigenous yeasts, which carry out spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. Once the fermentation process is completed, the mass rests for several months in large barrel. before bottling. Throughout the entire duration of the processing, the liquid is not subjected to any clarification, filtration, or addition of sulfur.

The Geschickt Riesling ‘21/22’ has a straw yellow color with golden reflections. The bouquet is broad, characterized by fruity aromas of apple and pear, followed by floral hints of jasmine and chamomile and pleasant notes of beeswax. The palate is rich and structured, dry and fresh, with great mineral persistence. Combining the vintage '21 with '22 allows the wine to acquire the best organoleptic characteristics of both, resulting in a balanced and extremely pleasant outcome.
