The Spumante Brut Rosé “50 mesi” by Terrazze dell’Etna is a Sicilian rosé sparkling wine that is intense and very mineral, produced in Etna with a long ageing on the yeasts for 50 months. The bouquet is pleasant and complex, of small red fruits and aromatic herbs. The taste is creamy, savory, lively, balanced and very elegant

The Classic Method Rosé Brut “50 Months” from the Terrazze dell’Etna winery is an elegant, intense and very mineral sparkling wine produced in the Bocca d’Orzo area of Randazzo, in the Etna Regional Park. A grape blend that sees Pinot Noir, predominantly present, joining Nerello Mascalese, an indigenous variety of this wonderful territory. The vines, aged between 10 and 15 years, are trained using the espalier method on small terraces supported by dry stone walls and palmenti, surrounded by oak and chestnut woods, at an altitude of between 750 and 950 meters on volcanic lava soils of the northern slope of Etna. The winery is a reality of 38 hectares of vineyards established in 2008 from the acquisition of small plots by the Palermitan engineer Nino Bevilacqua, who today relies on the consultancy of the famous oenologist Riccardo Cottarella to produce wines of the highest quality in respect of the territory.

The “50 Months” Classic Method Rosé Brut from Terrazze dell’Etna is a vintage sparkling wine produced with carefully selected grapes harvested by hand towards the end of August. The bunches, upon reaching the winery, are subjected to a brief cold maceration on the skins to reveal the color before pressing. The alcoholic fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers for a few weeks. The base wine thus obtained is bottled and added with tirage liquor for the sparkling process with secondary fermentation in the bottle and aging of the wine on its own yeasts for at least 50 months. Subsequently, disgorgement is carried out by hand, and expedition liquor is added to reach the desired dosage level, as per the brut category.

The Classic Method “50 Months” Rosé Brut sparkling wine presents itself visually with a pale pink color and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, intense aromas of small red fruits and citrus appear, including cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate, and orange peel, floral notes of Mediterranean scrub and aromatic herbs, finishing with slight mineral hints. On the palate, it is fragrant, creamy, fresh, and balanced, characterized by vibrant minerality and a pleasant savory finish. This from the Terrazze dell’Etna winery is a Classic Method lively and engaging produced in a unique territory like that of the Etna Regional Park.
