'Teresa' Cascina Tavijn

The “Teresa” of Cascina Tavijn is a concentrate of territory and a passion at work. It was Nadia Verrua, years ago, who decided to follow in the family footsteps and take care of that land which, since as far back as 1908, has been giving the family simple and everyday table wines. Nadia has maintained the same sincere soul connected to the land, elevating it according to criteria of quality and expressiveness. “Teresa” is truly the fruit of an attachment to one’s origins, looking far into the future.

The “Teresa” is made from red grapes that come from vineyards consisting of sandy soils rich in sandstone. The rows of vines are oriented southwest and northeast and are located at an altitude of about 260 meters above sea level. A process conducted entirely following sustainable agriculture methods leads the grapes up to the time of harvest. The harvested bunches are pressed and transformed into must. This remains in contact with the skins and ferments spontaneously through the action of indigenous yeasts.indigenous inside concrete tanks. It is aged and then bottled, without any prior filtration or clarification.

Cascina Tavijn “Teresa” has a beautiful bright red color. On the nose, it is marked by the recognizable typical aromas of the variety, expressed in spicy notes of pepper and floral notes of rose, set against a red fruity background. On the palate, it shows its gentle character through a beautiful aromatic intensity and vibrant freshness, balanced with fine tannins and a slight underlying sweetness. In this red, all the enthusiasm and energy of Nadia Verrua, a promise of the Monferrato wine scene, emerges powerfully.
