“U Neigru” by Possa is a very savory and expressive red wine by Possa, winery from the slopers of Cinque Terre. It has a mediterranean anad savory profile, rich of aromatic herbs and red flowers. The taste is dry, fresh and savory: amazing!

“U Neigru” is a genuine expression crafted by Possa, a small winery in the Cinque Terre, one of the most rugged and difficult places to cultivate. The heroic vineyards, cultivated by Samuele Heydi Bonanini, are located near the municipality of Riomaggiore, in the province of La Spezia. The vines climb the steep cliffs that plunge into the sea, which influences and nurtures the plants and fruits. This red wine is the perfect synthesis of aromas, warmth, and Mediterranean scrub of the Ligurian coastal area. A sincere and expressive bottle, capable of evoking the sea and reflecting the beautiful coastal territory from which it comes.

Possa “U Neigru” is born from a blend of red grapes vinified in equal percentages. The vineyard is situated on a schist and rocky soil, with the presence of sandstone. The slope and type of soil make cultivation particularly difficult, which does not see the use of mechanical tools, but only manual labor. The presence of a multitude of shrub varieties, such as lavender, caper plants, aromatic herbs, and fruit trees creates a diverse and Mediterranean ecosystem, rich in biodiversity. Here, the grapes for “U Neigru” also grow, hand-picked at the end of August, which, after being destemmed, macerate on the skins for 4 days. The must is then transferred to oak and chestnut barriques, where fermentation concludes and remains for nine months on the fine lees, until a few days before bottling.

The red “U Neigru” from the Possa winery presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it releases marked and unique aromas; ripe fruit and vegetal notes dance and enrich the bouquet with aromatic herbs and red flowers. A pleasant saline note brings the mind back to the Ligurian Sea. The sip is savory and Mediterranean, with a cutting freshness, and reveals a marked minerality. A label capable of poetically narrating the territory of origin.
