ArtisanalThe Vouvray Sec 'Arpent' Domaine Sebastien Brunet is a white wine made from Chenin, cultivated with full respect for nature, without the use of pesticides and herbicides, in the heart of the Loire. After spontaneous fermentation and a short aging in steel and barrique, the result is a fresh and aromatic wine, which expresses delicate citrus and floral aromas accompanied by hints of tropical fruit and toasted dried fruit on the nose, while on the palate it offers a tense and vibrant sip, supported in the finish by a refreshing minerality.
The Vouvray Sec ‘Arpent’ from Domaine Sebastien Brunet is a Chenin Blanc with a typical expression that is both rich and taut. The Vouvray denomination is located in the Touraine area, in the central-eastern part of the Loire Valley, and the name of this AOC derives from the homonymous village situated just 9 kilometers from the center of Tours. Vouvray wines are produced almost exclusively with Chenin Blanc, one of the symbolic grape varieties of the region, which due to its exceptional enological plasticity can give rise to great dry wines, seductive dessert wines, or dynamic sparkling wines. Based on the residual sugar content, Vouvray is then distinguished into Sec, meaning dry, Demi-Sec, meaning off-dry, Moelleux, corresponding to sweet wines, and Doux, which are fully sweet.
Domaine Sebastien Brunet Vouvray Sec ‘Arpent’ is a 100% Chenin Blanc grown on clay, limestone, and silica soils without the use of pesticides or herbicides, in accordance with the principles of organic farming. The vines have an average age of 30 years and enjoy a fresh exposure to the northeast. Following the harvest, the grapes are transferred to the winery and subjected to a gentle pressing, followed by the vinification of 80% of the must in stainless steel tanks and the remaining 20% in barrique. In these wine containers, alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously due to the natural presence of indigenous yeasts while the subsequent maturation lasts for a few months.
Visually, the Vouvray Sec ‘Arpent’ from Domaine Sebastien Brunet expresses a straw yellow hue with golden reflections. The captivating aromatic bouquet recalls scents of white flowers and citrus zest, surrounded by delicate hints of tropical fruit and dried fruit. A fresh and vibrant sip, characterized by a distinct mineral signature that prolongs the persistence on the palate
