The Single Malt “The Smoky Twelve”, made by the Benriach distillery, is a 12-Year-Old Scottish Whisky. It is an original label, born as a variant of the classic Twelve from the Gore collection, which clearly and authentically represents the typical style of the great distillates from the Speyside region. Benriach wanted to add a smoky touch to its Single Malt, through a blend of some batches of unpeated Whisky with others of peated Whisky, in order to create a more complex and multifaceted taste. It is an ideal label for those who want to gradually approach the taste of peat. The creamy and malty sip dilutes the smoky sensations, making them subtle and elegant.
The 12-Year-Old Single Malt “The Smoky Twelve” is a Whisky that originates in the heart of the wild and green Speyside region. Since the late 1800s, the Benriach distillery has been producing high-quality Single Malts. In addition to the centuries-old experience in the art of distillation and the selection of the best raw materials, there is a particular attention and expertise in the selection of woods for aging. For the version “The Smoky Twelve”, barrels previously used to age American Bourbon, Spanish wines from Jerez, and Marsala are used. The contents of each individual barrel are then blended to create a final result of great complexity and richness, to which the peaty nuances that give subtle smoky sensations are added. Thanks to this process, some of the most multifaceted and interesting Whiskies in all of Speyside are born.
