Glenkinchie is located in what has always been considered the area where it is grown one of the best barley in Scotland. Given its proximity to Edinburgh, it is also known as "The Edinburgh Malt" and it is part of the "Classic Malts of Scotland". Located in the Kinchie Burn Valley, not far from the town of Pencaitland, East Lothian, is one of the last operating distillery in the Scottish Lowlands region; his name "Kinchie" is a corruption of "De Quincy ', the original landowners.

Established in 1825 by the Rate brothers under the name of Milton, it was renamed Glenkinchie in 1837. Typical characteristic of Glenkinchie distillery are its two copper stills, among the highest in the world, producing a total of 1.3 million liters per year ; only 10% of this production is used, however, for its Single Malt, cause the remaining goes to the production of blends, as Haig, Dimple, and the Red and Black Label Johnnie Walker. The water used for its light and fruity whiskies comes from Lammermuir hills.

His Single Malt 12 years was awarded in 2013 as best "Lowland Single Malt" at the World Whiskies Awards. Excellent its "Distiller's Edition" aged in Amontillado Sherry casks. Refined Single Malts with Edinburgh personality, in perfect Lowlands style.
