The Aglianico Riserva 'Contado' from the renowned Molise winery Di Majo Norante is a structured and Mediterranean expression that is never heavy. This winery in Campomarino, province of Campobasso, has managed over the years to combine quality, quantity, and sustainability in production, establishing itself as one of the most important wine realities in Southern Italy. Today, the estate is run by Alessio Di Majo Norante, who continues the work of enhancing the enological heritage of Molise started by his ancestors back in the 1800s, respecting tradition while not giving up on constant research and experimentation.
Di Majo Norante Aglianico 'Contado' Riserva is produced with only Aglianico grapes from the Camarda vineyard, where the soils, of clay-limestone origin, are located about 200 meters above sea level. The rows, with an average age of over 20 years, are managed under certified organic farming. In the winery, alcoholic fermentation takes place in small stainless steel fermenters with a long maceration.on the skins and subsequent complete malolactic fermentation. The aging phase takes place in wooden barrels of varying capacities and lasts for about 18 months before bottling and further resting in glass.
'Contado' Aglianico Riserva Di Majo Norante has an intense ruby red color with a garnet rim. Delicious spicy and toasted notes of chocolate and tobacco accompany intense fruity aromas and Mediterranean herbs. Full-bodied and rich sip, with velvety tannins that lead to a balsamic and intensely fruity finish.
