The Amarone by Corte Giara, an intense expression of the Valpolicella terroir, is luscious and enveloping both in aroma and taste: the dense ruby red color suggests an important structure. Aromas of well-ripened red fruit, particularly cherries, pepper, and spices are combined with a full, velvety, and sinuous taste profile, well balanced by the fresh component.

The Amarone della Valpolicella "La Groletta" by Corte Giara represents an eclectic and modern interpretation of the Veronese winemaking tradition that originated from a project developed in 1989 by the Allegrini family, historic managers of the namesake agricultural company deeply rooted in Valpolicella since the mid-nineteenth century. The necessity for which Corte Giara was created is to reinterpret classic production adapting it to everyday consumption while maintaining the high value of the labels for which Allegrini is famous worldwide. Specifically, this Amarone faithfully reflects the tradition that has elected it as a great red of international fame, while preserving within it a new modernity of style, in line with the evolution of contemporary taste.

The Corte Giara "La Groletta" begins its vinification with the appassimento in fruttaio of the bunches for a period following the harvest that lasts for about 4 months. During this appassimento, the grapes naturally progress with ripening and lose about 40% of their weight, thus concentrating the sugary and aromatic substances within them. Then follows a vinification of the dried grapes in temperature-controlled steel containers and a maturation divided equally in large Slavonian barrels and second-passage barriques.

“La Groletta” by Corte Giara Amarone presents an organoleptic profile that reveals a deep, impenetrable ruby red color of full consistency, a testament to the concentration caused by drying. The aromatic bouquet impresses with the power of fruit reminiscent of ripe cherries and maraschino cherries and is framed by a seductive spiciness of pepper and predominantly cloves. Enhancing the array of aromas is a clear hint of tobacco accompanied by a slight minerality. The sip is enveloping, intense, and soft, yet balanced by a freshness of crunchy fruit and a velvety and intriguing tannin.
