APEROL CAMPARI DESCRIPTION

Aperol Campari is one of the most widely recognized brands worldwide. For over a century, it has been a star player in convivial and joyful aperitif moments. Its distinctive orange colour makes it unmistakable, and it remains one of the most appreciated and consumed bitters globally. Its characteristic smooth taste, with a pleasantly bitter finish, makes it particularly suitable to be enjoyed either neat or with a splash of soda or used as a base for numerous classic or modern mixology cocktails. Following the success of Aperol Soda, younger generations have rediscovered this historic Italian bitter with Aperol Spritz, which quickly gained popularity among young people looking for an aperitif with a strong personality and low alcohol content.

Aperol Bitter was born from the desire to create a simple, easy-to-drink, and low-alcohol aperitif. The recipe was perfected in 1919 by the Barbieri brothers, who presented their creation at the International Fair in Padua. However, especially in the post-war period, Aperol became famous throughout Italy as the national aperitif. The advent of television and advertising campaigns on Carosello, featuring the great actor Tino Buazzelli uttering the famous slogan "Ah Aperol," contributed significantly to its success. The definitive relaunch came in the 1980s and 1990s with Aperol Soda, the ready-to-drink single-dose version with very low alcohol content. Then came Aperol Spritz, which in a few years became the trendiest aperitif.

Aperol is the aperitif with unmistakable colour and taste, which has remained unchanged since 1919. It is still produced with the ancient recipe that has always remained a secret, exclusively known to the brand's owners. The bitter is born from the infusion of oranges, rhubarb, and other herbs and roots whose names are unknown. Its aromas are distinctive, opening with fragrant notes of orange zest, aromatic herbs, rhubarb, and bark. On the palate, it is smooth, with an almost sweet entry, rich and broad, anticipating a harmonious and slightly bitter finish.
