The Barbera ‘Monleale’ by La Colombera is a structured wine, with a strong Piedmontese identity. It comes from the Tortonesi hills of Monleale, an area suited for reds with strong personality. Fermentation takes place in cherry wood barrels and aging lasts one year in 25 hl barrels, the traditional Piedmontese woods used because the large volume limits the impact of the wood and favors a slow evolution that enhances the fruit and the identity of the grape variety. On the nose, it opens with ripe red fruit, cherry, and plum, with floral hints and a slight spiciness. On the palate, it shows body and power, maintaining freshness and tension. It naturally pairs with braised beef with polenta
