The Magnum “Riserva Runcot” is one of the most prestigious labels from the Elio Grasso winery. The estate is located in the Ginestra area, within the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. The first bottles were produced in the late 1970s, following the ancient traditions of the Langhe and with the grape varieties that have always been present in this corner of Piemonte. The winery has maintained a family-run approach, with a passion still driven by a sincere craftsmanship spirit. Thanks to the careful management of the vineyard and very respectful vinification processes, Elio Grasso's labels have established themselves among enthusiasts who love the authentic taste of the Langhe land and its wines.
The “Riserva Runcot” Barolo by Elio Grasso comes from splendid vineyards over 30 years old, cultivated at about 300-350 meters above sea level, on soils of prized clay-limestone marl. At the end of the harvest, the best grapes are selected and sent for fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine matures in French oak barriques for about 60 months and completes the long aging process with 18-24 months in bottle before being released for sale. In the glass, it presents an intense garnet red color with slightly orange reflections. The bouquet expresses floral notes, spices, balsamic herbs, aromas of small red berry fruits, and toasted nuances. The sip is long and deep, of great elegance and complexity, with a fine tannic texture and a fresh, persistent finish. A Magnum of great elegance, a true expression of the terroir!
