Rare wines
Perfect to give as a gift
Organic and biodynamic"Blu Brancaia" is a Supertuscan of great personality and elegance, among the greatest wines of the Tuscan wine scene. The aromas on the nose recall berries, sweet spices, and vanilla. On the palate, it has a soft, round body, with delicate tannins and a spicy aftertaste.
Il Blu Brancaia is undoubtedly one of the most representative wines of all Tuscany. The flagship of the winery in Radda in Chianti, it is made from the union of great grape varieties such as Merlot and Sangiovese, as required by the history and tradition of Supertuscan wines. Acclaimed and awarded by industry critics, “Il Blu” is a wine of great aromatic structure that, aided by softness and fine elegance, creates a true Tuscan jewel.
Il Blu from the Brancaia winery begins its journey in mid-September, when the harvest starts and will end at the end of the month. The bunches from the individual vineyards are strictly hand-picked and once transferred to the winery, the destemming and crushing process begins. Immediately after, the grapes fall directly into the fermentation tanks using gravitational force. To achieve the maximum qualitative expression, each grape variety is vinified and aged separately, the latter step takes place inside barriques for a duration of 20 months, concluding then for a year in the bottle.
Il Blu Brancaia settles in the glass with a deep ruby red color. On the nose, the varietal aromas of the grapes used are clearly distinguishable: Merlot with the fullness of red fruits like blackberry and peach, Cabernet Sauvignon with its vegetal aromas (almost reminiscent of tomato leaf) and Sangiovese with the elegance of violet and the spicy tenacity of black pepper and clove. On the palate, “Blu” is of devastating harmony, a round and structured sip, refined by delicate and integrated tannins that is softened by pleasant notes of chocolate. We are faced with a Supertuscan that enhances and represents the characteristics of its territory of origin, a true star that is increasingly shining within the bright Tuscan constellation.
