Botanical Spirit 'Lu Mare' Seimilametriquadri
Exclusive winerySeimilametriquadri's Botanical Spirit 'Lu Mare' is a distillate that expresses all the wonderful scents of the Mediterranean. It comes from a traditional discontinuous copper pot still distillation of botanicals such as pink pepper, basil, wild fennel and olive leaf, which are left to infuse directly in the boiler. Dry, spicy, slightly spicy and bittering, with a rich, lingering taste: a distillate born to impress in cocktails with a marine soul!
The production reality of SeiMilaMetriQuadri presents the Botanical Spirit ‘Lu Mare’, a distillate with a evocative Mediterranean identity produced from the combination of typical Mediterranean scrub botanicals and pink pepper, an ingredient present in all the Botanical Spirits of SeiMilaMetriQuadri. Despite its name, pink pepper does not belong to the pepper family and is therefore also known as “false pepper”. It is a plant native to the plateaus of Latin America that has adapted excellently to the climate of Southern Italy due to its preference for rather warm and dry environments.
The SeiMilaMetriQuadri ‘Lu Mare’ Botanical Spirit is crafted from a careful selection of botanicals, including pink pepper, basil, rosemary, bay leaf, wild fennel, mint, and olive leaves. Most of the ingredients are infused for about 24 hours directly in the same boiler of the traditional copper still where the distillation process according to the method discontinuous. The exceptions are mint and wild fennel which, due to their delicacy, have the aromas of the essential oils contained in them extracted in the side basket of the boiler thanks to the passage of alcoholic steam.
Upon visual examination, the Botanical Spirit ‘Lu Mare’ from the SeiMilaMetriQuadri brand shows a transparent and crystalline appearance. On the nose, the intense spicy scent typical of pink pepper predominates, supported by Mediterranean sensations of rosemary, bay leaf, and wild fennel. Completing the olfactory context are the fresh aromas of mint and basil. The taste is dry, rich, and spicy, slightly peppery and bitter due to the presence of olive leaves, with persistent balsamic-Mediterranean notes on the finish.
