Brunello di Montalcino 'Madonna delle Grazie' Il Marroneto 2019
Rare wines
Perfect to give as a gift"Madonna delle Grazie" is an important Brunello di Montalcino that well represents the Tuscan territory. The aromatic spectrum is intense and distinctive where notes of ripe fruit alternate with nuances of licorice, mint and bitter coffee, due to the long aging of 41 months in Allier oak barrels. The gritty, warm and velvety structure rests on sweet tannins and a fine sapidity
The Brunello di Montalcino “Madonna delle Grazie” represents the pinnacle of the historic winery Il Marroneto, a niche of art and wisdom on the hills of Montalcino since 1974. Famous and multi-awarded, the “Madonna delle Grazie” has often been defined as one of the best expressions of Sangiovese.
The selected grapes that give rise to this Brunello come exclusively from the Marroneto vineyard, a small estate adjacent to the 13th-century chapel of Madonna delle Grazie. The Sangiovese grapes harvested here are fermented slowly in Allier oak vats for at least 20 days. The maturation involves a resting period of 41 months in oak barrels and then an additional aging in bottle for 10 months. The choice of large 25 quintal barrels for the long aging makes it possible to preserve the natural aromas of the wine, protecting it from the aggression of wood and excessive oak notes.
woodsy and exuberant, evoking very ripe fruit, mint, bay leaf, and bitter coffee. The taste identity is gritty and unmistakable, robust, savory, with good tannic expressiveness and an endless harmonious finish. An important and unforgettable red wine, an unmissable interpretation of Brunello.
