“Les Charmes de Vrigny” is the Extra Brut from Lelarge-Pugeot that encapsulates all the charm of a Premier Cru terroir spread across the most historic regions of Champagne. The fruit from the old vines, the calcareous matrix of the soil, the use of reserve wines: everything precisely influences this composition, creating a balanced, elegant, and impactful bubble in terms of taste.
Extra Brut “Les Charmes de Vrigny” from the Lelarge-Pugeot estate is the expression of old vines with an average age of 40 years, cultivated according to the criteria of certified organic and biodynamic agriculture in various parcels located within the municipality of Vrigny, classified as Premier Cru. The vineyards are situated about 150 meters above sea level on the western slope of the Montagne de Reims, with soils predominantly composed and characterized by the widespread presence of calcareous marls. The blend includes 50% Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, and 20% Chardonnay, vinified separately and to which are added reserve winesaged according to the solera method. The harvest is done manually, while in the cellar, pressing and alcoholic fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks, conducted spontaneously by indigenous yeasts. After racking, a maturation period of 6 months in steel precedes bottling and the prise de mousse. The Champagne evolves for 8 years on its own lees before disgorgement and the final dosage, which corresponds to 4 grams per liter.
