Chardonnay 'Tellus' Falesco 2025
The "Tellus" Chardonnay is a white wine of great freshness and fragrance that is aged only in steel. Simple, light, and easy to drink, it is characterized by a fresh and rich sip, endowed with a very delicate olfactory texture where notes of citrus, field herbs, and spring flowers emerge.
The Chardonnay “Tellus” by Falesco is an interpretation of the famous French grape variety focused on simplicity, floral and fruity fragrance, and smooth drinkability. The vinification only in steel emphasizes the desire to cater to the expressive immediacy of the delicate and elegant varietal notes of the grape. A wine with a everyday and convivial face, which pairs very well with appetizers or simple and not overly elaborate fish dishes.
The Falesco “Tellus” Chardonnay is produced on the estate of the Cotarella family, which manages a farm in the border area between Umbria and Lazio. A beautiful hilly area that boasts an ancient tradition in viticulture, dating back to the times of the ancient Romans. From the stunning hill of Montecchio south of Orvieto, the property descends towards Montefiascone and Lake Bolsena, in the province of Viterbo. The soils have a rather heterogeneous composition. In the area of Montefiascone, they are rich in sands and ancient volcanic components, while at In Montecchio, the soils are of a calcareous-clay matrix, with the presence of white pebbles. The Chardonnay vines are cultivated in the municipality of Castiglione in Teverina at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level. The vines are trained to a spurred cordon and are harvested in the first half of September. After a brief cryomaceration, soft pressing and fermentation in steel at low temperature for about two weeks are carried out. The wine then rests in steel tanks for a few months before being put on the market.
The white Chardonnay “Tellus” by Falesco is a fresh wine, an interpretation to be enjoyed young to fully savor its refined and elegant aromas. Its name comes from the goddess of the earth Tellus, whose cult was celebrated in Ancient Rome on April 15. In the glass, it presents a bright and luminous light yellow color. The bouquet expresses floral scents, aromas of cedar, citrus, white fruit, and aromatic herbs. The lively sip unfolds with rich fruity aromas and a savory, fresh, and pleasantly gastronomic.
