The Chianti Fattoria dei Barbi is one of the most representative labels produced by this important Tuscan winery. The Colombini family, owners of the winery, has been producing Chianti since the last century and is therefore a master at combining Sangiovese, the reference variety of the denomination, with other typical grapes of the territory. The result is a red wine with a simple yet satisfying profile, which always makes a statement at the table, especially when paired with meat dishes. It should be noted that this Chianti is vinified and aged exclusively in steel tanks.
This Chianti Classico Fattoria dei Barbi originates from over 90% Sangiovese grapes, with small percentages of Canaiolo and other grapes permitted by the production regulations. The bunches are hand-picked during the harvest and are immediately transferred to the winery's vinification area. Here, after destemming, the grapes are gently pressed, and the resulting must is vinified in stainless steel containers. The production process ends
with a few months period in which the wine ages in steel containers, to then be bottled and marketed, preserving all the most delicate and fragrant characteristics.The Chianti Classico signed by the Fattoria dei Barbi winery presents itself to the eye with a ruby red color, characterized by a good degree of brightness. The notes that emerge on the nose are simple and immediate, highlighting a range mostly made up of fruit and spices.
