The wine "Cielo Sommerso" is an orange wine made from Verdicchio grapes that is aged in Georgian amphorae for about 9 months. It reveals a dry and enveloping profile, deep and straightforward, with vibrant freshness and a light tannic grip, wrapped in a refined bouquet of candied fruit, oriental spices, acacia honey, and sensations of citrus peel and aromatic herbs.

The ‘Cielo Sommerso’ from Tenuta San Marcello is a white wine macerated on the skins that stands out for organoleptic richness and originality. This small production reality in the Marche region manages less than 4 hectares of vineyards, located within the territory of the Castelli di Jesi, an area suited for the cultivation of one of the most appreciated white grape varieties in Italy: Verdicchio. ‘Cielo Sommerso’ presents a new and ancestral interpretation of this grape, benefiting from aging in Georgian amphorae and the prolonged contact between the fermenting must and the skins.

Tenuta San Marcello ‘Cielo Sommerso’ represents a pure expression of Verdicchio, from vineyards rooted in clay-limestone soil at about 290 meters above sea level, cultivated under certified organic farming practices, also adopting biodynamic agriculture practices. Once full ripeness is reached, the grapes are hand-harvested and, subsequently, alcoholic fermentation takes place with skin maceration. The wine is therefore aged for about 9 months in Georgian amphorae of terracotta (qvevri) and for another 6 months in bottle. Throughout the entire winemaking process, the mass does not undergo filtration.

The Marche orange wine ‘Cielo Sommerso’ from Tenuta San Marcello has an orange color with amber reflections. The aromas evoke sensations of honey, vanilla, oriental spices, candied citrus, and balsamic herbs, while the taste is velvety, rich, and substantial, well balanced by the imposing freshness, as well as the very light and pleasant tannin. An authentic Marche label, skilled in reinterpreting the territory in a primordial key without distorting the expression of the grape, but rather elevating it.
