"Cratere" Terrazze dell'Etna is a red wine that originates from the splendid territory of Mongibello and expresses its personality in a direct and straightforward manner. It is the result of a blend created with a percentage of the indigenous grape variety Nerello Mascalese, to which a small percentage of the Bordeaux variety Petit Verdot is added, contributing to give the wine body and structure. An unusual combination, but particularly fitting, that allows one to appreciate the elegant, fresh, and mineral character of the reds from Etna. It is a young and fragrant wine, captivating for its harmonious and well-balanced sip.
The red "Cratere" is born in a young reality of the area, which for about twenty years has been cultivating vineyards and producing wines on the volcano. Terrazze dell'Etna is located in the Bocca d'Orzo area, within the municipality of Randazzo, and produces wines with a harmonious face. The vineyards are cultivated on the north-western slope of Etna, at an altitude ranging from 650 to 850 meters above sea level, on soils of volcanic origin, rich in minerals. The cool climate, characterized by strong temperature fluctuations, allows for the harvesting of ripe clusters with very rich aromas. Fermentation takes place with long macerations on the skins.
