Falanghina del Sannio Mastroberardino 2024
The Falanghina from Sannio by Mastroberardino is a typical and territorial white wine from Campania, with a classic fresh and citrus profile. Vinified in steel tanks to preserve the natural fragrance of the fruit, it emanates exotic aromas and scents of orange and banana, delivering a thin, fresh, and direct sip with a pleasantly fruity aftertaste.
This Falanghina del Sannio is a classic Campanian wine that tells the exuberance of the whites from southern Italy. Fresh and easy to drink, it is truly a useful all-rounder at the table, both for aperitif time and for the whole meal, where it finds its perfect match with a good plate of spaghetti with clams. Mastroberardino, a winery that has been a reference point for Campanian viticulture for forty years, enhances in this bottle a grape variety that finds its ideal cradle right in the Sannio Beneventano, and which expresses itself with its simplest and most essential traits.
This Falanghina del Sannio originates from grapes cultivated within the Tenuta di Apice. We are located about 350 meters above sea level, within a medium-textured soil rich in skeleton, with a south-east exposure. Here, the Falanghina vines, which are around 15 years old, grow using the trellis system. The vinification occurs in white, and the must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers. The aging takes place for several months always in steel, until the wine is deemed ready by Mastroberardino to be bottled and marketed.
The Falanghina del Sannio by Mastroberardino reveals itself with a straw-yellow color, edged with some greener touches. Crunchy and refreshing is the range of aromas that spreads to the nose, orchestrated with hints of fruit, including exotic ones, and more citrus tones, which gradually take center stage during the olfactory analysis. On the palate, it is light-bodied, equipped with a fresh and savory taste progression, from which a beautiful aromaticity peeks through, especially in the finish. A label where everything flows with great linearity, also characterized by an excellent quality-price ratio.
