'Las Galgas' Bodega Teo Legido 2020

The orange wine 'Las Galgas' by Bodega Teo Legido represents a pure expression of Verdejo that combines complexity and dynamism. The Spanish winemaker Teo Legido is located in Avila, in the autonomous community of Castilla y Leon, and is characterized by an artistic and genuine production approach based on biodynamics, as evidenced by the winery's membership in the association “La Reinassance des Appellations”, founded in 2001 by the renowned biodynamic vigneron Nicolas Joly. The Las Galgas vineyard is located within the small municipality of San Esteban de Zapardiel, in the province of Avila. Historical records indicate the presence of this vineyard, which today has vines that are 120 years old, as early as 1751, although it probably has existed since at least the Middle Ages.

The Bodega Teo Legido 'Las Galgas' is produced from only Verdejo grapes coming from a 120-year-old vineyard rooted in sandy-clay soils with abundant presence of flint, quartzite, and gneiss. The plants, located at about 800 meters above sea level, are cultivated in a regime organic and biodynamic. The grapes are destemmed for 80% and then placed in stainless steel tanks for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation, accompanied by 6 days of contact between the must and the skins. The aging phase takes place in French oak barrels and lasts for 9 months.

Intense straw yellow is the color presented by the white macerated wine 'Las Galgas' by Bodega Teo Legido. The aromatic spectrum is composed of aromas of apple, pear, fennel, dried flowers, and chamomile. The taste is deep and complex, characterized by vibrant freshness and a precious mineral imprint. A slight tannic sensation precedes the long and pleasant finish that is consistent with the nose.
