Malvasia Ronco dei Tassi 2025
The Malvasia Ronco dei Tassi is a medium-structured white wine vinified in steel. In the glass, it presents itself with a straw yellow color, offering intense notes of yellow fruit, citrus, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is rich, soft, fresh, savory, with a beautiful persistence.
The Malvasia from the Ronco dei Tassi winery is a aromatic and enveloping white wine produced in Montona, Cormons, in the province of Gorizia, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. This label is made from pure Malvasia Istriana grapes sourced from vineyards located about 200 meters above sea level on well-exposed terraced hills interspersed with woods. The vines, which have an average age of about 60 years, are trained on trellises using the double inverted guyot method on soils characterized by rich marls and sandstones of Eocene origin. The winery, which owns about 22 hectares of vineyards, is a family-run business currently managed by Fabio Coser and his wife Daniela, supported by their two sons Matteo and Edoardo, who respectively handle the agronomic and commercial aspects.
The Ronco dei Tassi Malvasia is produced with carefully selected grapes that are hand-picked at their peak ripeness. Once the bunches reach the winery, they are destemmed and gently pressed, after which they undergo alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18-20 °C for about 8-12days. Subsequently, the wine undergoes only partial malolactic fermentation and remains in aging in stainless steel tanks until April of the year following the harvest before being bottled and put on the market.
The Malvasia from Ronco dei Tassi presents itself with a bright straw-yellow color. On the nose, intense aromas of typical white and yellow fruit emerge, including white peach and apricot, citrus notes of mandarin, floral hints of linden, acacia flowers, and wildflowers, finishing with a touch of aromatic herbs and slight chalky mineral sensations. On the palate, it is rich, soft yet at the same time taut and savory. A wine of great balance, which, thanks to the care taken in the vineyard and the vinification solely in steel, manages to keep alive and unaltered all the characteristics and primary aromas typical of the grape variety.
