The Manzoni Bianco "Fontanasanta" by Foradori is one of the great Italian whites, a surgical fusion between aromatic breadth and refined salinity. Elisabetta Foradori is one of the most important women in the world of artisanal wine, heir to a family winemaking tradition that has its roots in the distant 1939, the year the winery located in Mezzolombardo was founded. Since 1984, Elisabetta has taken the reins of the family business, giving a decisive push towards absolute quality viticulture, converting the entire vineyard to biodynamics and uprooting the international grape varieties present to replant indigenous varieties such as Nosiola and Teroldego. Today at the helm of the winery is her son Emilio, who, with the constant support of Elisabetta, continues straight ahead in the realization of territorial liquids endowed with great finesse, transversal and appreciated by both long-time enthusiasts and newcomers.
The Fontanasanta wine is obtained from pure Incrocio Manzoni grapes, coming from the homonymous vineyard Fontanasanta characterized by soils of a limestone-clay matrix.calcarea-argillosa. In the vineyard, the principles of biodynamics are followed, using only natural preparations along with homeopathic doses of copper and sulfur, while in the cellar, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place in cement tanks and skin maceration for about a week. The liquid then matures for 7 months in acacia barrels before being bottled without undergoing clarification and filtration.
The “Fontanasanta” Manzoni Bianco presents itself in the glass with an intense and bright straw-yellow color. The nose is broad and refined, with great purity, featuring notes of citrus peel, exotic fruit, white flowers, and mineral bursts. The palate is harmonious and cohesive, a masterful encounter between juicy flesh and a refined saline texture, enhancing the drinking experience. A great white from the region, in Magnum version, definitely indispensable.
