We are in Garfagnana, where Luigi decided to embark on a journey, a project, a dream that could somehow restore the right dignity to these ancient productions. A project that is undoubtedly demanding, not easy, but incredibly stimulating, born and grown also thanks to the collaboration of Saverio, the company’s winemaker. Rhythm, harmony, balance: fundamental qualities for nature, for good winemaking practices in the vineyard even before in the cellar.

The philosophy with which the Melograno Rosso from Podere Concori is born is exactly this. Very old vines, rich in charm and beauty, in the vineyards of Concori, Piezza, Collaccio, Prete, Noceto, Selvapiana, on a soil rich in sandstones; sandy and pebbly soils, formed by minerals and with a high presence of silica. Here Luigi harvests his Syrah, with a small addition of old indigenous grape varieties; here he initiates a completely spontaneous fermentation, with indigenous yeasts, in open tanks and vats. 10 months of aging in small 225-liter barrels complete the birth of a great Tuscan red wine.
